NOC REQUIRED FOR EXTRACTION OF GROUND WATER BY FBOs

FSSAI has issued a letter w.r.t. "Requirement of No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) as pre-requisite for grant/renewal of FSSAI license"

In continuation of the direction by National Green Tribunal for extraction of ground water by existing/new established industries, it has been put forward that:


1. By 31st December 2017, all FBOs have to apply to CGWA for a NOC. The application has to be made online through the following link: www.cgwa-noc.gov.in/LandingPage/index.htm

For those states/UTs which do not fall under the purview of CGWA and which have their own legislation for ground water extraction, the FBOs must apply to appropriate agency concerned for the same.

2. During FSS license application process, FBO must furnish a copy of such NOC for new as well as renewal of license. License/registration will not be granted/renewed if the NOC is available.
