FSSAI has directed all the commissioners of food safety of all states/UTs to identify manufacturers/processors of edible oils who are not complying to the gazetted notification No. 4/15015/30/2011 dated 4th august 2015, wherein the limit of trans fat allowed in Interesterified Vegetable Fat/Oil, Margarine and Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil was reduced from 10% to 5%.
The timeline for compliance was extended upto 27th February 2017. Now since the deadline has passed, FSSAI has directed all the commissioners of food safety of all states/UTs to verify its compliance and submit the following report by 30th September 2017.
